In 2014, we met a pup that had come to the MAGSR, along with his mother and 4 sisters in the Fall of 2013. Jax, a black lab/German shepherd rescue was the last pup from his family to find his forever home. We brought him home and into our hearts. He started and completed puppy, intermediate, advanced obedience training, & CGC. In 2015, we joined the Frederick Wags for Hope organization and he passed as therapy and a READ therapy dog. We visit Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Hospitals and with Hospice. In addition, we visited local libraries and schools as a certified R.E.A.D.® team. By using our animals as a conduit, we help improve the literacy skills of the children in our community. Wags for Hope aspire to be a “one-stop shopping” organization supplying animal visitations for therapy purposes needed in Frederick, MD, and the surrounding areas. Jax and I are very proud to be a part of an organization that gives back to the community.
